Dr. Janke received her Ph.D. in Social and Administrative Pharmacy from the University of Minnesota. After graduation, she took a position with the College of Pharmacy at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada where she worked as a professor and researcher.
In 1997, Dr. Janke moved back to the U.S. and began preparing the Doctor of Pharmacy Program for Practicing Pharmacists for its Fall 1998 launch. In July 1998, Dr. Janke was charged with the development of the Office of Outreach Education. This office was responsible for providing learning opportunities for pharmacists. The Office currently provides continuing education for pharmacists, and also delivers several courses for university and professional students, in addition to assisting with the College's expansion to Duluth.
Dr. Janke has been actively involved with educational research and is the 1997 recipient of the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy of Canada Bristol-Myers Squibb National Award for Excellence in Education.
