Dr. Brown accepted a position at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy in 2000 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Care and Health Systems. Prior to his appointment at the University of Minnesota, College of Pharmacy, he served as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Pharmacy from 1996 to 2000.
 
Dr. Brown received his B.S. in Pharmacy in 1995 and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1998 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Pharmacy. In June 2000 he completed a one year primary care specialty residency at the William S. Middleton Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Madison, Wisconsin.
 
Dr. Brown’s practice interests focus on ambulatory care, specifically management of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and smoking cessation. Dr. Brown’s teaching responsibilities include course director/faculty for the second year of the Pharmaceutical Care Learning Center and faculty
 for the Biostatistics and Drug Literature Course for the on-campus pharmacy students. He also teaches through the College’s Office of Outreach Education in both Respiratory Pharmacotherapy and Drug Literature Evaluation. His research interests include improving pharmacy practice through diverse continuing educational strategies, using and evaluating technology in classroom and distance education, and improving the practice of pharmacists in providing tobacco use cessation.
