Nicole Kast is the Director of Educational Program Development in the Office of Educational Development. The office provides continuing education for pharmacists, and currently offers academic courses on multiple University of Minnesota campuses.

Ms. Kast has worked in the Office of Educational Development since 2003. She began as a Course Coordinator for undergraduate self-study health related courses, than transitioned into an Assistant Educational Specialist working with undergraduate students, and CE Manager responsible for the accreditation of live continuing education programs for pharmacists. In 2007, Ms. Kast became Assistant Director of Continuing Pharmacy Education responsible for the development and implementation of online and live CE programs that meet the needs of health care professionals.

Ms. Kast graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Education (1995). While pursing her degree she worked in the Education Department and the Community Relations and Marketing Department at Marquette General Hospital. Nicole moved to Minnesota and graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a Master of Science in Community Health and Certificate in Gerontology (1999). In Mankato Nicole worked for the Minnesota Area Geriatric Education Center of Southern Minnesota (MAGEC South), Region Nine Development Commission Area Agency on Aging, and as adjunct faculty at in the Health Sciences and Gerontology Departments at MSU,M.

In 2001 Ms. Kast came to the University of Minnesota to work in the Center on Aging (CoA)/Minnesota Area Geriatric Education Center (MAGEC) in the School of Public Health. Here she worked collaboratively with University faculty, external organizations/agencies and other Universities to facilitate the development, design, and implementation of gerontological educational products for professionals and consumers.
