Currently, clinical Nurse specialist,
Interventional Radiology, Fairview University Medical Center since
1994. Previous positions include Nutrition Support Nurse,
Nutrition Support Team, University of Minnesota Hospital & Clinic,
Minneapolis, (1987-1991). ICU Nurse, University of Minnesota
Hospital and Clinic, Minneapolis (1985-1994). Surgical floor
Nurse and teacher for home TPN patients, University of Minnesota
Hospital & Clinic, Minneapolis (1980-1985). Professional
Activities- ANA Certified as Clinical Nurse Specialist in Med-Surg
Nursing since 1997.
Over the past 20+ years have
focused on clinical practice, consultation, education and research,
including numerous invited presentations, classes, seminars and
workshops, locally and nationally. Guest lecturer for the
College of Pharmacy and College of Nursing for issues related to
Nutrition Support. Sharon has been actively involved in local
and national organizations relevant to her nursing practice and
has served on local and national committees. Most notably the American
Society for Parental and Enteral Nutrition. Sharon has published
practice related articles in various journals, authored or co-authored
several chapters and served as co-editor for the book: Handbook
for Nutrition Support: A Compendium of Products with Guidelines
for their Usage (1988). Sharon was named Critical Care Nurse
of the Year for The Twin Cities in 1991. Sharon has also been
selected for Who's Who in America Nursing in 1990, 1993, and 1995.
