2008 Conversations on Pharmacy Leadership

This year’s Conversations will maintain the theme of motivation, while focusing on core leadership concepts, or the process of leadership. The four-part series is designed to help you:

  • assess your individual strengths,
  • understand non-positional, grassroots pharmacy leadership and your ability to make a difference every day,
  • appreciate the processes of visioning and organizational leadership, and
  • examine the steps for leading adaptive change.

The 2008 Conversation series will also be integrated with Leadership Best Sellers for Pharmacists, an online continuing education program that will delve further into the how to of the topics discussed in this series.

Examples of Grassroots Leadership:  Making the Most of Your Personal Practice Environment
Based on Best Seller series book: The Fred Factor
Hosted on the Twin Cities Campus

This seminar will explain the concept of becoming a change agent, and describe how you develop a sense of responsibility to do so will be explored. Investigate examples of pharmacists who have been innovators at the ground level and the factors that have led to their success.

Objectives:

  1. Engage participants in a discussion on the most common sources of innovation in our profession.
  2. Assist participants in envisioning their potential role in influencing positive change in the profession and explore the cumulative effect of individual action.
  3. Examine the efforts of Minnesota pharmacists in leading change via grassroots efforts.
