Conversations on Pharmacy Leadership

Sponsored by the Century Mortar Club

The purpose of the Century Mortar Club (CMC) Conversations on Pharmacy Leadership is to showcase leaders and how they think toward advancing pharmacy practice in Minnesota. The program has been designed for practitioners and students alike. Its goal is to inspire and motivate one to pursue his/her professional and personal goals by learning from their colleagues’ journeys.

The series evolved since its infancy in 2002 with the input of many people too numerous to name, but who are thanked as a group publicly. The program’s creation was based on the CMC board’s discussions related to the College’s Capital Campaign Leadership initiative, the outcomes from the CMC-funded Minnesota Pharmacists: Charting our Future conference in May 2005, and observations about the great opportunities that exist for our profession to transition toward a patient care focus where all of us are paid to help our patients make the best use of their medicines.

The CMC leadership committee and board took inspiration from the University’s very successful Great Conversations Program and Minnesota Public Radio’s Regional Program: Talking Volumes.  And it 2007 crafted a unique 4-part series that walks us from creating change from the ground up, to influencing change at a strategic level. Click here for more information on the 2007 Conversations.

In 2008 it’s time to put your new found knowledge and energy to use with address the process of leadership. Click here for more information on the 2008 Conversations.

Recognize that to get there, each of us will have to do our part, and that is what this series is all about; change our corner of the pharmacy world and by doing so, change the bigger environment!

The Century Mortar Club inspires, motivates, and invests in pharmacy’s future.
