Hardware, Software and Participant Requirements
To ensure you get the most out of your online learning experience there are several hardware and software requirements to consider before participation. You can access your online learning materials from any computer that meets the requirements below. Hardware Requirements
- A Pentium II or greater, at least 256 MB RAM with a processor speed of at least 400 MHZ
- Windows users should use operating systems: Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, or Vista
- Macintosh users need a machine that can support Mac OS X 10.3 or above
- A Super VGA monitor with 16-bit color and a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher
- A sound card and speakers, or headphones
Internet Connection Requirements
- High-speed Internet connection is highly recommended (a 56k V.90 modem is acceptable, but participant will experiene long loading times and preview times when listening to presentations or downloading handouts)

Participant Requirements
- A valid email address that will be checked regularly. If two (or more) individuals will be enrolling together they may not share the same email address. Email addresses are used as a participant's login ID and each registered participants must have their own login ID.
- Courses require participants to have basic Internet and email skills. Participants should be comfortable sending and receiving emails and understand how to access a web page (or specific URL).
Policy on Privacy and Confidentiality
The University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy Continuing Pharmacy Education will protect personal information from improper disclosure. Participants can have access to their own records but prohibit release of such information to anyone else, except according to specific and legally defined exceptions.
All internet-based courses are delivered in a password protected website. The following are the only individuals who have access to the course materials: participants, course director(s)/instructor(s), course managers, and the instructional support team. Only the course director(s)/instructor(s), course managers, and instructional support team have access to the participant list and grade book. It is only through personal disclosure on the discussion board/blog and/or in an online chat session (e-symposium) that other course participants may know your name and any other information you disclose.
Additional Information
Once enrolled, participants will be guided through a brief orientation ensuring their computer is properly prepared. If you'd like to check your browser configuration before enrolling to make sure your system is compatable with our online learning environment you may do so by using the Browser Checker. The checker could take a few minutes to completely check your browser. Please be patient.
