Who should register
This course is designed for health care practitioners who want to enhance their expertise and clinical skills of desiring a greater role in providing medication therapy management services to patients with CKD, including those receiving dialysis.
Learning Objectives
Explain the epidemiology and staging of chronic kidney disease (CKD) as it relates to opportunities for identification of and strategies to prevent progression of CKD
Describe the anatomy and physiology of the kidney and relate that knowledge to development of comorbidities such as anemia, hypertension and bone and mineral metabolism disorders as well as medication management strategies in CKD
Apply pharmacokinetic principles in order to prevent medication-related problems and to optimize medication management in CKD patients in both hospital and ambulatory settings
