Who should register
If you are an academic or industrial scientist seeking a basic understanding of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics to further your work, then this intensive short course will be advantageous for your career. You will also benefit from this course if you wish to enhance your interactions with scientists in pharmacokinetic and drug delivery research. Additionally, the concepts you will develop are essential in the evaluation of traditional dosage forms and innovative medical delivery systems and devices.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
relate the concepts of clearance and volume of distribution to physiological processes that influence the absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of drugs and chemicals.
calculate essential pharmacokinetic parameters, such as the rate and extent of absorption, clearance, volume of distribution and half-life from simple concentration-time data sets.
apply fundamental pharmacokinetic principles to the evaluation of ADMET studies that are encountered in the pre-clinical and clinical phases of drug development.
